Radio killed the video star?

In light of recent video related set backs, we’re going to try and broadcast a press conference with audio only and put it up as a podcast later. I am using Icecast 2 as the streaming server with a flash client on the website. People will also be able to add the streaming url to their own media player. I’ve provided a linkable list of media players for the big 3 operating systems, Windows, Mac and Linux. Due to bandwidth restraints, I’ve put a limit of 310 simultaneous clients. The press conference should last about an hour. We’ll be filming the event, but sending the video to a laptop encoder via firewire and from the encoder onto the Icecast server. The encoder I’m using is edcast with Winamp.

More news later…
